AMS Performance: AMS Alpha12 GT-R Updates
Wednesday, September 21st, 2011It’s been an interesting couple of months for the AMS Performance crew. The culmination of a lot of hard work has seen the AMS Alpha 12 GT-R see a lot of results, especially in Texas. The TX2K11 Nationals event in March saw the Alpha 12 GT-R owned by Tim Sander’s show off it’s muscle to take the first place in the Dyno Comp GT-R Class with 1069 awhp.
In the days that followed they continued to push the GT-R to the limits and at the drag strip came away with another new record – a 9.1 @ 159mph pass. Despite the tune not being fully ironed out the Alpha 12 is still the quickest GT-R around.
There’s quite a lot of other GT-R happenings over at AMS’s blog and there’s more records lined up to fall soon. Two Alpha 12 GT-Rs are getting set to run the Moscow Unlimited event coming up in September. This year it seems the GT-R crowd wont be satisfied with second place in Moscow as it was in 2010.

Pure Performance: - In 1999 the Nissan Skyline R34 GTR came to life
Saturday, December 12th, 2009In 1999, the Nissan Skyline R34 GTR back to life, the last model, and the GTR even better. Styling is excellent, with a brand new much more aggressive form, but it seems to take account of a machine. The R34 GTR looks and feels like he got the best of both models R32 and R33 in a single package. The interior is simple, sporty and luxurious, with much more legroom for the driver and head. The seats are comfortable for long trips, but still a corner, where it is difficult. Center gauges have been replaced with an LCD screen. That shows a lot of information like the position of the accelerator, boost pressure, torque split, one meter in G, and consists of a port-com, so you can download the data runs on a laptop. In an attempt to feel the R32 GTR Management replicate much loved the wheelbase has been reduced b 7 5 centimeters, the stiffness of the chassis was improved by 50 percent, and the suspension was much improved. Revised multi-link rear suspension in the rear, with MacPherson struts, with an additional link on the front. Ten years had passed since the R32, but the magic remains even techno (HICAS and Attessa), but if these functions are significantly improved. RB26DETT engine improvements have been made yet but once again, and so that the engine is lighter and quieter. The torque curve is improved and remains flat over the entire speed range, 400 Nm at 4400 rpm achieved, so that more flexible from the engine. It has a more modern with smooth lines, rather than the edges of the previous model. The new Looks like some of the dubious style of the current R33 and some preferred the harder edges of the R32. On the road with the R33 is the first thing you notice min redline as the engine R25DET smooth power delivery line and the car pulls to 3000rpm hard drive 7000 rpm. The manual version will work in 6 Coupe 0-100 18 seconds and fill out the quarter, in 14 4. Maximum power is 187kW at 6400 and a peak torque 295nm to 4800th The RB25DET is a ripper and the technology before its time. The 2nd 5-liter intercooled turbo straight 6 has a head DOHC variable valve timing on the intake side. Handling of the coupe is great to feel with a good balance between comfort and sport such. The rear of the car driven by a system has been HICAS that works by calculating the speed and angle of the car in the corners. This feature seems to minimize understeer and the car stopped by the curve flat. The back of the car is with a viscous LSD and still equipped so slowly when pushing hard. This makes the car easy to control, but if too much pressure would have made it easy to lose the rear. The Skyline is a mid-size coupe weighs 1360kg and cornering a large disk, but not quite as directly or crunch, though it was the corners like the R32 easily. Suspension modifications, but the light is essential to improve the administration. In Australia, a number of good 1 GTS25-T for about $ 17,000 and a number 2 for about 20,000 can be taken into account. With standard features like power windows and air conditioning I think it is good value for money. With slight modifications to the engine and chassis, the car can be converted into a weapon street.
